Conrad Ford on the RBS alternative remedies package and Capability and Innovation Fund
30 April 2018
Conrad Ford was quoted in the Times (subscription required) on the RBS alternative remedies package and the Capability and Innovation Fund, saying the fund will lead to more choice for small businesses:
“Year after year, the likes of Nationwide and Virgin have dropped hints about launching a full business banking offering, then pulled back due to the costs of gaining enough customers to reach profitable scale. Now, with incentivised switching imminent, we’re seeing them apparently turn words into action.”
The £350 million fund will be paid for by RBS, in return for their government bailout in the 2008 financial crisis, and is aiming to give business banking customers more choice and boost competition.
